ISC POPPI - Practice Only Program Plus Indoor

ISC "POPPI" - Practice Only Program Plus Indoor

The Practice Only Program Plus Indoor, known as "POPPI," is a part of our Intermediate Program Level in the ISC.

"POPPI" is one step above "POP" in terms of time commitment.

The "POPPI" program is also one of our 3,  year round programs that we offer in the ISC.  The 3, year round programs that we offer are listed below.

Year Round Programs Offered by the ISC:

1) "POP"-Practice Only Program for any U8-U18

2) "POPPI" -Practice Only Program Plus Indoor-Only for U8-U18 players

3) Advanced Year Round Program -for any U8-U18 player

Why do "POPPI"?

The "POPPI" program is designed for soccer players who want to make huge progress in their soccer skill development and for players who want to learn how to play the game better.  This program was established to meet the needs of the young soccer players who desire to be a part of a program that provides great instruction from the coaches and guarantees a professionally run practice environment.  As with ALL of the ISC programs, we offer only expert level coaching to all programs.  Players in the "POPPI" program will train with our best coaches and receive the best instruction possible.  They will also practice with all of the Advanced Year Round players who are very committed soccer players.

What makes the "POPPI" program different from the "POP" level is that the "POPPI" players will play in indoor games with the Advanced Year Round Players during the winter months from November through early March.  In addition, unlike the "POP" players, "POPPI" players must adhere to all practice requirements that the Advanced Year Round players are required to follow for all seasons of the year even though they only play games with the other advanced year round players during the winter months.  The only difference between a "POPPI" player and the Advanced Year Round player is that the "POPPI" Player does not play league or tournament games in the fall and spring and therefore, the "POPPI" player is not required to pay team fees for league or tournament games during those seasons.

We established the "POPPI" program for those kids and families who have really busy fall and spring seasons with other sports or activities.  The "POPPI" Program might be a good fit because players in "POPPI" have access to practices all year long, but they only need to commit to game attendance during the winter months when they are playing indoor games with the advanced year round players.

How is POPPI different than the Advanced Year Round Program?

The main difference between "POPPI" and the Advanced Year Round Program is that players in the Advanced Year Round Program have game attendance requirements in three seasons.  "POPPI" players only have game requirements during the winter season.   "POPPI" players still have to follow the same practice requirements that the advanced year round players commit to during the other seasons, but they only have to travel to games during the winter months.

How To Register for "POPPI"

All players interested in the Practice Only Program Plus Indoor, or "POPPI" program, will need to register for our Clinics and Tryouts in order to participate in the program for next year.  By next year, we mean the 2014-2015 season, which starts in August 2014 and runs through July of 2015.

The clinics and tryouts for the 2015-2016 "POPPI" program start June 2015.  The practices for the 2015-2016, "POPPI" program will start either in August 2015.

Rules for POPPI:

As was mentioned above, unlike the "POP" program, there are certain training and game commitment rules that "POPPI" players must commit to in order to participate in this program.  "POPPI" players will play indoor games with our Advanced Year Round players during the winter season from November through the first two weekends in March.

"POPPI" players must adhere to all practice requirements that the Advanced Year Round players are required to follow for all seasons of the year even though they only play games with the other advanced year round players during the winter months.

All of the players on the Advanced Year Round teams have practice requirements throughout the year in order to participate.  Those requirements are listed below. The "POPPI" Players must adhere to the same practice requirements listed in the documents below for the advanced year round players.   Please note though that "POPPI" Players only need to commit to the winter game requirements in the documents below.

  • U9-U10 Commitment Expectations 2017-2018
  • U11-U12 Commitment Expectations 2017-2018
  • U13-U14 Commitment Expectations 2017-2018
  • U15-U16 Boys and U15 Girls Commitment Expectations 2017-2018
  • U17-U18 Boys Unified Commitment Expectations 2017-2018
  • U16-U18 Girls Unified Commitment Expectations 2017-2018

We offer lots of practice opportunities throughout the year for the "POPPI" players to meet their requirements.   Players in the "POPPI" program are not limited to attending their age group's team practice to fulfill this requirement.  "POPPI" players can also use the "super skills" sessions to meet their practice requirements in each season if the team training session time does not work for them due to scheduling conflicts.

In addition to the practice requirement, all "POPPI" players must meet adhere to all of the winter game requirements required of the Advanced Year Round Players in their age group.  For example, the advanced year round player in the U11-U12 age group, must attend 3 of the 5 indoor tournaments.  Therefore, any "POPPI" player that is a U11 or U12 player will be required to also attend 3 of the 5 indoor tournaments with the Advanced Year Round Players.

Looking at another example, the U15-U16 advanced year player must commit to only 2 winter indoor tournaments, but in addition to the 2 tournaments, they are required to play in one session of our ISC indoor leagues.   Therefore, any U15 or U16 "POPPI" player would be required to play in 2 indoor tournaments and play in one session of our ISC indoor league.
