The ISC is excited to offer our 6th Year of INDOOR LEAGUE PLAY FOR OUR ISC U15 Boys and Freshmen U16 boys and U15-U19 Girls
Registration is full for Session I
The Boys and Girls Indoor League will be known by its acronym: The ISC BAGIL
What is the BAGIL?
The ISC BAGIL is in its 6th year. THE BAGIL combines U15 boys and U16 boys that are freshmen with all of the U15-U19 girls on mixed teams for 2 sessions of indoor soccer each winter. (Please note that all U16 boys that are freshmen will also play in the BAGIL. Due to the birth year changes, many 16U boys are now freshmen and are best placed in this league and not the men's league.) All games will be played at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center, known as the HTRC. The facility address is 2820 Prairie Meadow Drive, Iowa City, Iowa.
PLEASE NOTE that all of the games will be played on the "HAWKEYE TURF." Players are NOT allowed to wear cleats on this surface.
How does the league work? Do I need a team to sign up or can I enter on my own?
The league is set up so that all participants sign up as individuals. Participants are placed on a team with other players and they will remain on the same team for the entire session. The ISC Coaching Staff will select current ISC players to be captains and these captains will hold a draft with the supervision of the ISC Director to form the teams for the session.
All participants are guaranteed 10 indoor games with the team that they are assigned to play with for the session. In addition, the ISC coaching staff will ensure that all players on each team will play as close to half of each game as possible.
Who is eligible for the league?
Participants must be a registered ISC "POPPI" player or an ISC Advanced Year Round Player to compete in the league. Players that are ISC "POP" players are not eligible to play in the league. Players from other clubs are not allowed to participate in the ISC BAGIL League.
All players who enter the draft must meet their practice requirements each week to be eligible to play in the league games on the weekend.
Format of League-5v5 Indoor Soccer
5v5 Indoor Soccer-No Walls- (4v4 + Keepers with a futsal ball) Games are played on an excellent turf field at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center on the facility called the HAWKEYE TURF. Players are NOT allowed to wear cleats on this surface. Since there are no walls, when the ball is played out of bounds, we will play kick-ins for restarts.
We will use a futsal ball, but we will not use the official futsal rules for play.
The field space will be 25 yards wide by 40 yards long. With 4 field players on each team and a goalie for each team, the space allows for good soccer to be played by the teams.
Who coaches the teams?
The ISC staff will be present for each team to coach the games.
When is the League Offered?
We hold two sessions each year.
Session I runs from November 2018 through December 2018.
Session II runs from January 2019 through March 2019.
What Days of the week will games be played?
Games will be played on Saturday and Sunday evenings for Session 1.
League games will be played on any of the following dates:
(Please note that this doesn't mean that your team will play on all of the dates listed below, but they will have games on the majority of the dates listed below.)

If I sign up for the league, do I need to make all 10 games?
Most likely you will need to be available for most games.
Cost for the League: $90
$90 Per Player: for 10 League Games and a league jersey.
Duration of each match
45 minutes with a running clock-no half time.
We anticipate that we will have 9 teams for Session I.
Each team will play the other 8 teams in the league and they will play two teams twice. We guarantee that ALL teams will play 10, 45 minute long games for session I.
After the completion of the regular league schedule, we will take the top four teams based on league results and have the #1 seed play the #2 seed for the first place of the league and the #3 and #4 teams will play each other for 3rd place in the league.
This means that while all teams are guaranteed 10 games, the top 4 teams, determined by the results of league play, will play an 11th game.
Each player on the top 2 teams will receive a winner's long sleeve shirt.
Tiebreakers in Championship Games:
Games in league play that end in a tie will be scored as 1 point for each team. However, games in the Championship rounds that end in a tie will be decided by penalty kicks. There will be no added time for games ending in a tie during the championship rounds, we will immediately proceed to penalty kicks. A coin toss will determine which team kicks off first. Each team will select only 3 shooters. The shooters can be selected from players on the field at the end of the game or players on the bench at the end of the game. Once the referee determines who will kick first, the teams will alternate after each kick. The team with the most goals after the first round of penalties with the 3 shooters per team will win the game. If the game is still tied after the first round, the same 3 shooters will restart but in the second round, the game will be decided by sudden victory. The penalty shooters will alternate and if one team scores and the other team does not, the game is over.
Minimum Players Required for Each game: 5
Your team must have at least five players at each game. If you do not start the game with five players that are listed on your roster, your team will forfeit the game.
Please note that if you start the game with five players but at some time during the match you play with with less than 5 players due to an injury, the game will not be counted as a forfeit as long as the injured player is able to return to the match and play for at least half of the match.
If your team forfeits a game, the game is recorded as an 0-8 Loss for the forfeiting team.
