ISC Lightning Registration

• Registration for the ISC Fall 2026 Lightning Program will open at 10:00 AM in late June 2026.
• Registration for the ISC Winter Lightning Program will open at 10:00 AM on October 20, 2026.   
• Registration for the ISC Spring 2026 Lightning Program will open at 10:00 AM on February 14, 2026. 
• Kids must play in their assigned age group.  We will not accommodate requests for kids to play in a group that does not align with their assigned age group. 
• We DO NOT accept walk-up registration! You MUST register online.
• We will accept registrations up until the first practice, or until each division closes.
• Please read the additional registration requirements in the registration section below.
• There are 10 practices scheduled in the Spring and Fall season.  There are 14 practices scheduled for the winter season.  The Lightning program is a practice only program.  The kids do not play games against other opponents in the Lightning Program.  We always play small sided scrimmages, 3v3 or 4v4 with small goals, at the end of every practice.
• Spring and Fall ISC Lightning practices will be held on Friday evenings from 6:35 PM-8:05 PM
• We will hold Winter Lightning on Friday nights from 7:00-8:30 PM in the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center on the Iowa Turf-Cleats Allowed.

Player Eligibility

• Players born in the following birth years can participate in the 2025/2026 ISC Lightning program:
  • 9U – 2017 birth year
  • 10U – 2016 birth year
  • 11U – 2015 birth year
  • 12U – 2014 birth year
  • 13U- 2013 birth year
  • 14U- 2012 birth year
  • 15U-2011 birth year

Cost

• The cost to participate in the ISC Lightning program varies from season to season.
  • Fall 2025 fee is $140.  This includes expert coaching, an ISC t-shirt, and a soccer ball.
  • Winter 2025/2026 fee is $255.00 – includes 15 INDOOR practices, an ISC t-shirt and an indoor futsal soccer ball.
  • Spring 2026 fee is $140.  This includes expert coaching, an ISC t-shirt, and a soccer ball.
• Please note that the charge on your account will be listed as “HTG Sports,” not the Iowa Soccer Club.

Location

• The Fall ISC Lightning program will be held OUTDOORS at the Hawkeye Recreation Fields.
• The Winter ISC Lightning program is held INDOORS at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center.
• The first practice of the Spring 2026 ISC Lightning program will be held indoors at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center (HTRC) and the remaining 9 practices of the Spring 2026 ISC Lightning program will be held OUTDOORS at the Hawkeye Recreation Fields.
• The Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Center (HTRC) is located at 2820 Prairie Meadow Drive, Iowa City, Iowa.
• The Hawkeye Recreation Fields are located at 2960 Hawkeye Park Road, Iowa City.

Additional Registration Information

• When you register your child for the ISC Lightning program, please register your child in the correct birth year age group.
• For the Fall and Spring Program we will accept 140 soccer players.
• We limit the number of kids we take in each birth year for the fall and spring program so that we can ensure that the program is organized and so that we have a good coach to player ratio.
  • 9U –  (1 Adult Coach per 12 kids)
  • 10U – (1 Adult Coach per 12 Kids)
  • 11U-12U –  (1 Adult Coach per 12 kids)
  • 13U-15U – (1 Adult coach per 15 kids)
• We will only accept 45 players for the Winter ISC Lightning program.  (1 Adult coach per 12 kids.)

Lightning Refund Policy

Due to the fact that we limit the number of children that we accept for each age group, refunds are only issued for the reasons listed below:

• Your family moves out of town prior to the start of the Lightning program, but after you have registered.
• Your child is injured prior to the start of the Lightning program, and they cannot participate in any part of the program.
